Scotland is the Home of Golf, where the game was invented. And consequently golf in Scotland is, in many ways, a different game from elsewhere in the world. Its a game for everyone – from the postman and taxi driver to the board director and investment banker. Nevertheless club memberships are falling, as they are in many parts of the world. Busy lifestyles and greater competition from other leisure pursuits means that the game needs to encourage newcomers. And thus the Scottish Golf Union asked us to help with their marketing; to encourage new recruits and enhance and improve their website. The campaign aimed to highlight the excitement of the game, whilst the website delivered significant enhancements and improved use for all club members. The success was recognised with the campaign being shortlisted at the 2015 Marketing Star Awards. Well above par in this case.
